one time a guy commented on something i wrote that was completely devoid of capitalization by telling me i needed to learn proper "grammer".

i'm not really the kind of person who will tell you very much about himself in one of these little boxes.

i don't have many pet peeves that will completely turn me off to another person. i try very hard to be non-judgmental, but i suppose we all have a few prejudices. trust me, i'm working on it. i have a very diverse group of friends, so there's not much room to look down on others.

i hate all the little "pigeon-hole fuckin' gotcha" questions and tests on here. almost all of them contain choices too broad or narrow to really suit me. (it's probably my own fault, so don't worry your pretty little head about it.)

i'm really bothered by the fact that the pronoun "it" can't properly be made possessive, and a few other things like that...

i use ellipses too much, and if i can't spel a word i will look that shit up.

i'm not very good at written communication. the two primary reasons are that i can't type, and i have not figured out how to be sarcastic or facetious without confusing people. maybe i need a course in "smileys"... do they offer that?

i suffer from anxiety and add.

i'm not overly materialistic.

my "politics test" results are dead on. this makes me a very tolerant person though, so don't sweat it. ok? good!

i'm an insomniac, so i may fall asleep at any moment. i know that sounds backwards, but it really does make sense. i can explain if you really want to know.

i really love the term "reckless abandon" and i think it aptly describes my approach to many things in life.

disclaimer: before reading further you should know that i really don't care if anyone is impressed with vocabulary. i love words, plain and simple. i like odd words, words that are fun to say, and words that are archaic. i love history and etymology. to be honest, i constantly look up words to be assured of their meaning because i don't read as much as i used to, and i have a terrible memory. it sucks! don't be afraid to assume that i intentionally paint myself as a dork here. i'm prone to do that. and if i've actually got to type all this crap out, i should at least get to amuse myself with how lame i am in the process. (by the way that's "pro-cess" - like "pro-noun"; because it's fun to be pretentious and annoy the people out there who judge) anyhoo, i may be shooting myself in the foot by doing so on a dating site, but i don't really give a shit. in the long run, if i meet people who really want to get to know me, i'll be better off than if i tried to be some super cool pseudo-version of myself and only got a few "hook-ups". the point is, i can get laid w/out okcupid.

-If youre a "carolina girl" then you shouldnt talk to me. For those who dont know what a "carolina girl" is, its like a demented southern bell. They basically act like drunken idiots and like guys who wear croakies, sheersuckle, boater shoes, pastel colored clothes, and visors. They have no personality and hate anyone born above the mason dixon line. You can spot them because they wear pearls, dresses, flip flops, spend their dads credit cards, and have sandal stickers on their cars next to their initials.

- If youre a hipster, and you know who you are, then dont bother. A hipster listens to really awful music no one has ever heard of and claims it as their own. They drink a shitload of fairtrade coffee, ride bicycles, and frequent dive bars. They have tattoos and consider themselves artsy even though they usually take crappy pictures of something like a single lawn chair in an empty field. Hipsters can be found living in old rustic(shitty) buildings and taking other peoples cultures as their own. They also preach acceptance but usually only talk to other hipsters (hipster guys are tall and skinny have long hair, pathetic attempts at beards and wear girl clothes) I should also note hipsters love shopping at American Apparel(weirdly I think girls who shop at AA are hot) which is weird because hipsters hate corprate america and the idea of capitalism.

- If you shop at hot topic only and think Edward from Twilight is a real vampire then dont waste your time. This also entails listening to shitty metal music, having a lack of hygiene and or social skills and spending all of your time on the computer.

-If you think Creed, Nickelback, or Three Doors Down are legitimate musicians then dont bother
-if you gots a kid then I hate to be that guy but dont bother.
-if you dropped out of school then dont bother either.
-If any of the above offends you then sorry but it happens.

I like doing my own thing and not really fitting into a category of people, if you think you are unique and not sound pretentious about it, then drop a line....also if you have a french accent....or any accent then you should drop a line.

Just testing this out. I work 730-4 M-F. I exercise 5-6 days out of the week. I love to hike but don't go enough because of no hiking partner. well, I've been part timing college sine '04 and working full time, at times more than one job. I am currently back in college full time trying to finish it in a couple years while working 30 hrs a week. I am a bit old fashioned about some things, but i am my own man as well. I am a Bible believing Christian an' lean toward the baptist denomination, but I know there are other denominations that believe the same on the important issues. I like western wear an' the western life an' I plan to live back out west again as soon as I can after I finish college. My Major in College Is electrical engineering tech. I've moved with my family 19 times in 24 years. i've lived in the north, south, east, and West. I do not hail from anywhere because of that, but i prefer the west. I like the out doors an' am starting to be a prepper in case of a disaster whether it be natural, economical, or otherwise. I am a country boy, so i love the out doors. i also love old cars, old tractors, an' vintage electronics. I like Ford an' Dodge for vehicles. Prefer to have a truck or Ford Bronco, but I love the Ford Mustangs as well. I live with the folks while I attend college to keep the bills down, so I help them with their farm. I am also in out church's choir as a bass singer, I also work as church security an' help run the sound booth, mainly the computer recorder for on line broadcasts an' CD burning. I have 2 CWP that make for 32 states of carryin' range. I like guns and stand heavily for the 2nd amendment. I try to Make God first in my life. I'll not claim success, but I do try. You should know before you read any further that I am not entirely normal. Why, you ask? Because I'm Jesus minus superpowers, morality, different languages, and the suave choice of wardrobe. I'm from the Internet, and I am ready to serve. I got more stories than J.D.'s got Salinger. I got rhyme like the ancient mariner. I like mosh pits more than just about anything I can name. I may or may not be a /b/tard. I herd u liek mudkips. I spell the word huge wrong on purpose. I have a judo grip on the English language. I have a car. Its name is Chin Music. I once took an online quiz to see what superhero I would be. It said "all." I then took a quiz seeing what legendary insane criminal I was and got the same answer. I am chaotic neutral. I have low stats, but limit-break constantly. My mind operates like the random article generator on Wikipedia.

Just because someone loves metal and chaos doesn't mean they can't also enjoy tranquility. I've always thought that, at least. I believe there's merit in both. If I was God for a day, I would cure epilepsy and kill anybody who was ever in a band called the Ting Tings. Sanskrit is my favorite language. Not even kidding. I love being in planes as they take off. I like setting up tents, but I hate taking them down. Someday, I want to meet Mike Nelson of MST3K fame. I can't claim a huge number of exemptions on my W2. YET. 40s are my anti-anti-drug. If it ain't O.E, it ain't fo' me. I went bearhunting while skydiving this one time. Ended up catching a 430 pound nurse shark instead. Shit was SO cash.

Lost me yet? I don't blame you. I tend to ramble. I have a dog named Stella. She is my best friend. Although she does look like she's wearing emo makeup, which is unacceptable. I tolerate it, though, because she likes to battle. I also love the art of bonsai. I currently have a 5-piece bonsai garden (two junipers, a Chinese elm, a maple, and an azalea, all between 4 and 12 years old). I sometimes offend people with my bluntness. I love creative descriptions. I like going to the gym, I like how I feel right after coming out of it, and I like seeing the effects, but I hate working out. I am confident, but not egotistical. I think sometimes people get that confused. I don't think I'm attractive, talented, witty, or hella-fuckin'-balls-to-the-wall awesome. Many people seem to think I am, though, so it balances itself out, I suppose. My homies include such standup guys as <<lagib>>, <<trashbog>>, and <<alanedomain>>. Check 'em out.

The economy is horrible. That's not really my fault, but I do blame old guys with bad haircuts. Roller coasters may possibly be the very reason that our civilization will be spared by the aliens someday. However, the Jonas Brothers and Lady Gaga are proof that we as a society are on the decline. I will swing on the next person who attempts to guilt me into becoming a vegetarian. I put single Coronita lights into minifridges next to 6-packs of Guinness, just to see if they fight (they don't). I have a love/hate relationship with Funyuns. I have too many opinions.

Game for a loud concert in a dingy club or throwin' 'em back to the sounds of a video game music-themed power hour? You're exactly who I'm looking for. I keep getting told by my friends that this summary is not an inaccurate depiction of me (even the stuff that is obviously a complete lie). Well, I'm the guy of contradictions. I'm a decently quiet guy who listens more than he talks and is often considered the nice dude in the corner whose every other word is some witty, sarcastic, dry-humored nonsense (can't help myself). I have a few principles/ethics/morals/whatever-you-wanna-call-them that I stick to, and I've been labeled as a bit old fashioned at times (apparently holding a door open is old school, who knew?). I'm usually pretty mellow and I do my best to have a good amount of patience since life is too short to be pissed off all the time. Anyway, I've just grown tired of the spoiled attitudes on my campus, so I guess I'm checkin' out the web. Speaking of my campus...

I go to Furman University not due to a pair of wealthy parents or awesome academic scholarships, but thanks to a few nice benefits from the Army. I'm a Philosophy/History double major, and I admit it's rather useless, so it's a good thing I'm not in it for the money. I love the military and I plan to do the National Guard for a while, but I doubt I'll go career...probably just my minimum and I'm out.

Overall, I'm a pretty down-to-earth-guy. I'll tell you how it is, regardless of how you feel about it. I'm pretty positive about life, but I'm an agnostic realist, so take it how it is. Speaking of which, if you're not agnostic or something, don't let it scare you away.. I'm not nearly qualified to make remarks about the validity of somebody's beliefs. All I do is defend my own. I was raised to respect myself enough to defend what I believe in and respect others enough to appreciate what others put their faith in. Whatever it is, don't let this whole thing stop you from getting to know me...let my sarcasm do that.
